Homemade Shampoo and It's Easy Too

When I started my natural journey, shampoo wasn't one of those things that I considered. I had my favorite supermarket brand that I used and I had to have it. I saved coupons for it, I price matched for it and I even stockpiled it. I was NOT going with out that--ever.

Then, I noticed that my hair started falling out. A lot. So I started switching products and it still happened. I started using organic version and still wasn't pleased with the results. Too dry, not clean enough, and the list goes on.
I started looking around for recipes and found a few that worked a little. You know that feeling you look for in your hair...it has to be just so. My inspiration for this recipe isn't anything new. I have played around with a number of recipes until I came to the one that worked for me and my family. This recipe is super simple. The only thing I change it the type of essential oils that I use for certain times! Enjoy!
Homemade Shampoo Ingredients
1/2 cup coconut milk (homemade or canned) (I get it wholesale here)
1/2 cup Liquid Castille Soap like Dr. Bronners (get it at a discount here)
20 drops of Essential Oils of choice (peppermint, lavender, rosemary)
For dry hair: add ½ tsp olive or almond oil (optional)
How to Make Homemade Shampoo
Combine all ingredients in an old shampoo bottle or jar of some kind
Shake well to mix.
Keep in shower for up to 3 weeks (it never lasts that long at my house).
Shake before each use.
Use about a teaspoon every time you shampoo.
Conditioner Recipe
Half and Half mixture of apple cider vinegar and water used as a rinse helps get hair cleaner and acts as a great conditioner. Add this to a spray bottle like the one pictured below.

I love adding Rosemary Essential Oil to make it smell even better!!
