This pretty much looks like me, in the garden most of the summer. But really, it starts in the early Spring. Cleaning up the twigs, dead plants and whatever the winter left behind. Then there are the raspberries! I love them but the only way to make the harvest big enough for the my hungry family.....that is to cut back the briers!
After I'm done.....well let's just say, its not pretty. Hands are red, swollen arms are cut and bleeding. And you say..just wear gloves, and I do. But somehow I manage to get cut up.
My recipe for "scratchy" salve is a life saver! The essential oils; Lavender, Cedarwood, Geranium, and Rosemary add in helping my skin clear up quickly and with little irritation.
Here's the recipe:
Lavender EO-6 drops
Cedarwood EO- 5 drops
Rosemary EO- 5 drops
Geranium EO- 5 drops
4 oz. V-6 Massage Oil
1oz beeswax pellets
Tools Needed
1.5C glass jar or bottle
Measuring spoons and cups
Double-boiler (I make my own with a glass bowl over a pot of shallow, simmering H2O)
Measure everything (EXCEPT EOs) into the upper part of your double-boiler
Melt on low heat over bottom part of double-boiler until everything is melted (the beeswax will be the last thing to melt)
Turn off heat and allow to cool for a few minutes
Add EOs; whisk to fully combine
Pour into container and place somewhere safe so it can set up; stop by and stir occasionally
Ready to use
Store somewhere dry and cool; stir before use
